You can use these tools directly in the Photos app without having to visit a third party site, and there's even a special spot in the Mac App Store to download the integrations. Here's how it works:
Starting a Project - Downloading Apps
- Open Photos on Mac.
- Scroll down to 'My Projects.'
- Click on 'Go to App Store.'
- Clicking the link from Photos brings up a list of all Mac apps that integrate with Photos.
- Choose an App and click to download.
Nov 26, 2019 Whether you are using free IP camera software that come with the system or third party apps for managing video surveillance systems, it's essential to pay extra attention to the minimum requirement on your computer system or mobile devices such as iPhone 4/5/6/7 information in advance. Third-party apps may be welcomed or forbidden by the device or website owner. For example, the Safari web browser app that comes on the iPhone is a native app made by Apple, but the App Store contains other web browser apps that Apple approved for use on the iPhone but did not develop. Those apps are third-party apps.
If you've already created a project, accessing a list of available apps is done by going to File --> Create and choosing the 'More' App Store option.
Available Apps

Right now, there are six apps that are offering integration with Photos, but more apps will likely implement compatibility in the future. All of the apps are free, with the exception of the GoodTimes collage maker, which is priced at $19.99.

Using an App to Make a Project
- Open the Photos app.
- In the Photos menu bar, choose File --> Create
- Under Create, choose the third-party app you want to use for your project.
- Click done.
- Drag photos from your Photo Library to the Project. These photos are the photos that the app will be able to use -- it doesn't have access to your full photo library.
- Re-open the project by clicking on it from the 'My Projects' list.
When you use one of these integrated third-party Photos apps, all of the project creation is done entirely in the Photos app.
For example, with Mpix, I chose a Metal Print from the list of options, provided access to my Photo Library, added photos, chose a photo for the project, resized it, and proceeded to purchase options all without opening a different app.
These same simple project creation tools are available for all integrated apps, making it simple to do a lot more right in the Photos app without having to fuss too much with third-party services.
Logitech Webcam Software For Mac
The largest manufacturer of - and arguably the best webcams made - are from Logitech. In years past, they had a very spotty history of commiting to support Apple web camera compatibility whole-heartedly, but they've gotten much better as Apple's market-share and dominance has increased.A few years back they released Logitech web camera software Mac OSX Yosemite, Mavericks, Leopard. It was technically not 'Driver' software: OSX handles that with the system-level support for UVC compatible cameras. It's more a webcam capture application Macintosh users can install to perform HD still image and video clip capture control. It gives more usability out of some of the legacy UVC compliant Logitech HD webcam models for which they specifically offer OSX support.

Logitech C270 HD Webcam
Newer webcam models that aren't currently mentioned on Logitech's support page (like the C525, C920 and other HD cameras) DO NOT work with this capture application. The app is hard-coded to detect only specific camera models. All cameras mentioned and linked above are USB Video Class webcams and the driver itself is part of OSX for basic functionality.
Logitech's OSX web camera control software features still image capture and video recording in Standard and High-Definition Widescreen modes at various VGA and HD resolutions - in compressed or optionally uncompressed format for iMovie imports. Sharing captured clips and snapshots to FaceBook, YouTube and Twitter is also supported. You can download the latest build of the Logitech Webcam Software For Mac OSX 10.5+ via this link.
Why you want it: Many older OSX video chat and capture programs can't or have a hard time taking full advantage of HD 720 and 1080 resolutions. Most are designed for 3:4 aspect-ratios and standard-definition snapshots or video at 320x240 or 640x480 VGA resolution. Logitech's Mac webcam software handles capturing clips at the 16:9 wide aspect ratio and HD modes far more intelligently. What it doesn't do: It lacks image adjustment controls - leaving all focus, color, brightness and white balance to Logitech's built-in camera hardware.
Logitech Webcam Control App For Macs
If you're tunning OSX 10.7+ and own a more recent Logitech HD camera like the 930e, 922 or ConferenceCam, you should download a newer Logitech Mac webcam settings app for image control and camera pan, zoom and tilt and image adjustment functions in any video-aware Mac app. It now works with a much wider range of Logitech cameras, but it depends on the model as to which adjustments are supported.- B525 HD Webcam
